Honey hits first, thick and golden, with bergamot cutting the edge so it never feels flat. Juniper adds a cool prickly lift that keeps the opening from leaning too heavy too soon. The start is bright and sticky at the same time, which sounds contradictory until the air settles and the two sides find a rhythm.
Red wine enters next, dark and slightly fermented, wrapping around a rose that smells more velvet than petal. Lily-of-the-valley brings a clean bell tone through the middle, while cedar grounds the florals so the heart stays dry near the stem. It is a lush step, but the wood keeps it from turning into a syrup.
Myrrh and benzoin take over with a resinous warmth that feels like walking into a room lit by low lamps. Musk smooths the edges so the balsamic accord sits close to the skin rather than floating sharp above it. The base is deep and slightly sacred, the kind of dry sweetness that belongs to old temples and carved boxes.
