Sinti is a case for skipping the roses-you-already-know. The floral here is not centre stage, it is support for a rugged, green, resinous backdrop. Rose sits among fir, clary sage, and galbanum, and the effect is not soft or traditionally pretty. It is bracing, slightly medicinal, and unmistakably aromatic. Then Peru balsam and vanilla step in, but they do not turn the blend into a comfort scent. The vanilla is quiet, the balsam is dark and sticky, and together they anchor the greens rather than sweetening them. Blueberry adds a muted fruitiness that never reads as candy. The result is a fragrance that refuses to choose between forest floor and vintage apothecary. It smells like a jar of dried herbs tucked into a cedar chest, with a single crushed rose petal and a faint, resinous stickiness left on your fingers.
