Ylang-ylang pushes through soon after, soft and yellow, with tonka rounding the edges until the opening feels less like a contrast and more like a blend. Virginia cedar sits underneath, dry and straight, while styrax adds a resinous weight that keeps the floral side from floating away. Immortelle brings a warm, hay-like touch that leans slightly savory next to the sweetness, and vetiver keeps the base grounded with an earthy, root-like smell.
The whole composition feels dressy, suited to a dim room with heavy curtains and a table set for a late meal. It carries a polished air, the kind that fits a coat thrown over a chair and a conversation that stretches long after the plates are cleared.
