Our take

Mouj opens with a candied almond that leans very close to marzipan, and that sticky sweetness is the first thing to know before buying. The jasmine and cypress try to lift it, but the almond note sits heavy and loud at the start, almost drowning out the greenery. If you dislike gourmand openings that feel like walking past a bakery display, this is not the bottle for you.

Once the initial sugar settles, the heart brings tonka bean and cardamom into the mix. The amberwood adds a resinous warmth that keeps the fragrance from feeling like a dessert topping, grounding the nutty accord with dry spice. Guaiac wood and vanilla in the base pull it further into a woody direction, though the almond never fully disappears. It wears cozy and aromatic, suitable for cooler evenings when you want something comforting rather than refreshing.

The challenge with Mouj is that the almond note lacks nuance. It stays sugary and a bit linear, never quite blending into the woods as smoothly as a more polished composition would. For some, that straightforward nuttiness is exactly the appeal, but if you prefer a fragrance where the gourmand touch feels subtle and integrated, this one stays too firmly in candy territory.
