Character
The opening is bright and busy with citrus. Mandarin orange, lemon and orange sit beside ginger, coriander, pepper and pimento, so the first impression is fresh, warm and lightly prickly at once. It feels energetic rather than smooth, with the spice giving the fruit a dry edge instead of letting it turn sweet.
The heart introduces orris, jasmine, violet, rose and lily-of-the-valley. The white florals and rose add a soft, powdery layer that rounds out the sharp top notes. This stage is aromatic and floral without leaning feminine, because the orris and violet keep the texture dry and slightly rooty while the lily-of-the-valley lifts the blend.
Vetiver, cedar, amber and musk form a woody, lightly resinous base that grounds the earlier brightness. The overall character is citrus first, then powdery floral, then woody and warm. It works well in spring and autumn, and it fits a man who wants a fresh daytime scent that still carries a proper floral and woody backbone.
