Our take

Black pepper and lemon hit first, bright and sharp, with mint cooling the edges so the opening feels clean rather than sweet. The citrus has a real peel quality, oily and slightly bitter, while the pepper adds a dry bite that keeps the first minutes from leaning into shower-gel territory. It smells like a morning walk through a spice market where the sun has not yet fully warmed the stalls.

Cinnamon, cloves, and ginger take over with a heavy hand. The spices are warm and dusty, sitting close to the skin in a way that feels intimate rather than loud. Amber and guaiac wood give the heart a resinous weight, and the leather in the base pulls the composition toward something rugged. This is not a polished office scent. It smells earthy, slightly rough, and unmistakably masculine, with a green freshness that flickers underneath the heavier notes.

The problem is the balance. The spices crowd the citrus so quickly that the fresh opening barely has a chance to breathe, and the leather feels added on rather than blended. Ginger and cloves dominate to the point of monotony, leaving little room for the wood to show its character. If you prefer a fragrance where each layer unfolds clearly, this one stays flat.
