Character
A citrus peel hits first, bright and cold, before the orris turns the air powdery and soft. Mandarin orange gives way to a rooty iris that feels more like fine dust than a flower. The opening stays near the skin, never announcing itself across a room, but the scent stays present for a long while once it settles.
Rose enters with the leather, and the two feel stitched together rather than layered. Cedar adds a dry plank to the mix, keeping the floral side from feeling soft. The leather here is smooth, not harsh, and the wood keeps the heart from leaning too sweet.
Musk and sandalwood hold the base together while amber adds a warm glow. Oud sits underneath it all, earthy and a little animalic, giving the dry down a heavy floor. The scent stays close to the body even as the deeper notes linger through a cold night out.
Wear this when the streetlights reflect off wet pavement and the air bites at your cheeks. It fits a dark wool coat and a quiet walk home. The whole composition feels like a leather glove left in a wooden drawer filled with iris powder.
