Mancera

About the house

Mancera was founded in Paris in 2008 by the perfumer Pierre Montale. He had already opened his first house, Montale, in 2003, and Mancera is described as its sister house. One account adds that the two are separate corporate entities that share a perfumer and a Paris flagship.

The house is presented as a family business, a collaboration between Pierre Montale and his daughter Amélie. She began as a photographer, trained at Creapole School in Paris, and took over as artistic director in 2017. Pierre remains the perfumer named for the house. One reviewer says the distributor Al Hthar initiated the project, and that it was conceived as an ode to Art Deco with modern takes on past scents.

Cedrat Boise, composed by Pierre Montale and released in 2011, is called the brand's signature. Roses Vanille appeared the same year. A retail journal's timeline then lists Red Tobacco in 2017, Hindu Kush in 2018 and Instant Crush in 2019, followed by Intense Cedrat Boise in 2021 and Red Tobacco Intense in 2023.

A retailer's brand page presents the house as combining French elegance with inspirations from distant lands, with scents crafted like works of art. The same retail journal says Mancera blends Oriental materials into fresher, more contemporary compositions than Montale, which leans East. A reviewer describes the perfumes as made in a French perfumery style, at intense concentrations.

The Paris flagship is at 68 rue Pierre Charron, near the Champs-Élysées, in the building shared with Montale.
