1# nota di viaggio (rites de passage)

Character
Meo Fusciuni’s 1# nota di viaggio opens like a cracked pepper mill left in a sunlit citrus grove, the grapefruit and bergamot sharp enough to sting the nose before the heat recedes into a woody, rosy haze. The heart is where this fragrance pulls its trick: palisander rosewood and geranium feel almost medicinal at first, then soften into a creamy, slightly tropical ylang-ylang that keeps the whole thing from turning too stern. As it dries down, the base becomes a dusty cathedral of vetiver, incense, and benzoin, with patchouli adding an earthy anchor and sandalwood smoothing the edges into something like worn leather bindings. This is not a loud scent. With longevity just above three hours and sillage barely clinging to the skin, it behaves more like a private memory than a statement. The overall character is a chypre that feels both ancient and freshly sawed, like a carpenter’s workshop in a monastery at dawn. It suits someone who finds pleasure in intimate scents, who does not need to announce their arrival. Skip it if you crave projection or all-day wear. Wear it in spring or fall, during a quiet afternoon with a book, or when you want to smell like the residue of incense on a wool coat. One rhetorical question: who decided that power must shout?
