Our take

Ça Boum opens with a fizzy, saline jolt that is less beach vacation and more a salt-sprayed lily bending under a coastal breeze. The sand lily note is milky and slightly metallic, tamed by a whisper of actual sea salt, and for a moment it feels like a fresh counterpoint to the usual vanilla floral bomb. Then the jasmine and rose wade in, heavy with a kind of clammy sweetness that never fully dries down into powder. The base of vanilla and immortelle pushes everything toward a syrupy herbal warmth, but the immortelle’s maple-licorice edge fights the vanilla’s creaminess into a stalemate. The overall character is a picnic blanket left out too long in the sun, the flowers wilting, the salt crystals melting into a sticky, slightly synthetic sweetness. It smells more mainstream than niche, more pleasant than provocative, and its sheer, close-sitting nature (sillage barely pushing an eyelash length) means it’s a personal scent, not a room filler. This is for someone who wants a spring-summer reach that won’t offend a single soul at brunch or a museum garden. Skip it if you crave depth, projection, or a twist of real daring. The longevity is adequate, about four hours before you’re hunting for a reapply. A gentle, salty floral vanilla that never quite decides whether to be fresh or cloying, and ends up being neither. 🌸🧂
