Our take

A sharp slice of bergamot cuts the morning air, then softens into a sweet, almost syrupy nectarine blossom that feels like biting into a peach that’s just a little too ripe. The jasmine weaves in, but it’s a polite white floral, not the heady, tuberose-drenched kind that demands attention. Underneath, white amber melts into a clean, slightly powdery skin scent that clings close. The whole thing is a sugared almond wrapped in a spring napkin — polished, pretty, and utterly safe.

This is a fragrance that works hard to please everyone, which is both its charm and its limitation. It opens bright, fruity, and floral, then settles into a warm, vaguely animalic whisper that borders on synthetic in its final hours. The longevity barely clears three hours, and the sillage is a polite bubble you have to lean into to catch. A 100 percent daytime wear with nearly zero nightlife potential — this is a brunch scent, a desk scent, a “I want to smell nice without being noticed” scent. It suits the woman who wants a floral that won’t startle her co-workers or her Uber driver.

Skip it if you crave presence, complexity, or anything that lasts past lunch. Bella is a watercolor in a world full of oil paintings — lovely while it’s there, but gone before you can decide if you really like it.
