Character
The morning air is cool and damp against the brick of a narrow courtyard. Sunlight hits the pale stone walls and warms the space just enough to wake the bright citrus pressed into the skin. Bergamot sits clear and sharp, a clean lift that moves through the still air without force.
Turkish rose begins to open near the collar, its petals heavy with water and framed by the dry, rooty edge of nagarmotha. Myrtle adds a green, slightly medicinal breath that keeps the flower from leaning soft. The blend feels grounded, as if the plants were cut fresh from a garden that borders a wood.
Oud enters with a dark, resinous weight, joined by patchouli that carries a cool earthiness rather than a sweet one. Amber glows underneath with a soft, golden warmth, while cade oil brings a smoky, tar-like edge that deepens every step. The materials feel dense and natural, composed with care by Dominique Ropion.
Hands rest in coat pockets while the scent settles into the fabric and the air around the chest. There is no rush here, only the slow drift of wood and flower in the light. The courtyard stays quiet, wrapped in rose, oud, and amber.
