Our take

Cave opens with a sharp synthetic edge that can feel thin and slightly plastic when first applied. The grass note is bright and unmistakable, but it lacks the natural weight of real vegetation and instead reads as a manufactured green accent. This artificial quality carries through the early stage and may put off those who prefer realistic botanical scents.

The heart introduces violet leaf and moss, which add a damp, shaded character to the composition. The violet leaf brings a cool, watery green tone that blends with the aquatic accord, while the moss contributes an earthy depth that grounds the lighter top. As the fragrance develops, the base reveals Iso E Super and violet, creating a woody, powdery foundation. The violet here is soft and slightly sweet, sitting close to the skin and reinforcing the musky and amber accords already present.

The overall impression remains dominated by that initial synthetic sharpness, which never fully disappears even as the warmer base notes emerge. The grass and violet leaf maintain a crisp, ozonic freshness throughout, but the plastic undertone limits the fragrance's ability to smell truly natural. Cave is best suited to those who enjoy clean, modern green scents and do not mind a noticeable synthetic facet in the opening and heart.
