Cloud Collection opens with a bright, almost tart burst of sea buckthorn and generic fruity notes, like a handful of wild berries crushed against sun-warmed leather. The jasmine arrives quickly, but it’s not the dewy, romantic kind. It’s a jasmine that’s been sitting in a saddlebag, tangled with woody resins and the animalic pull of raw hide. By the dry down, the fruit has caramelized into a sweet, sticky residue on a dark leather chair. The overall image is a farmer’s market basket forgotten in the back of a vintage Jeep: the fruit has bruised, the leather seats have absorbed the sweetness, and there’s a faint, sweaty warmth that refuses to leave.
This is a niche fragrance with a synthetic edge that some will find charming and others cheap.
