Does a floral scent have to be light and airy to feel feminine? This release opens with rose and jasmine that feel grounded rather than floating. The white floral pairing does not rush to impress. Instead, it sits beside a heart of patchouli leaf that pulls the flowers down into the soil. The opening feels honest and a bit untamed, like a walk through a garden where the plants have grown wild over an old stone wall.
The base brings vetiver, benzoin, vanilla, and that same patchouli forward into a woody, earthy, and balsamic space. It is warm spicy without feeling hot, and the amber accord gives the blend a resinous weight. The vanilla here is dark and resinous, not a sugary topping. Picture wearing this while wandering a tree-lined path as the air turns crisp, wrapped in a thick knit sweater that carries the scent of damp earth and fallen leaves.
The composition stays true to its name, but the benzoin and vanilla can feel a bit heavy in the mix. The balsamic accord leans thick, and the sweetness sometimes overtakes the fresh jasmine. It is a beautiful idea, yet the balance tilts toward the resinous side in a way that might feel cloying to someone who prefers a crisp, sheer floral.
