Our take

The midday sun hits the glass of a greenhouse, and the air turns cool and dusty all at once. IRIS RISE sits in the space between the warmth of the glass and the damp earth below. The iris is right there, smelling of damp soil and expensive face powder. It is a cold, mineral sort of flower, and it pushes through the heavy, musky air without ever feeling soft. There is a stiffness to it, a rigid line that refuses to bend into something easy or overly sweet.

Jasmine enters the scene, but it avoids the typical sweetness of a white floral bouquet. It smells green and slightly sharp, like crushed stems lying on a stone path. This flower does not smile. It stands tall beside the iris, adding a waxy, slightly indolic thickness to the air. The violet accord deepens the shadows, pulling the scent away from a bright, spring-day floral and into something you want to touch. It feels like a heavy silk curtain in a room that smells of old books and dry cosmetics.

Then comes the ambroxan. It wraps the powdery petals in a rough, amber-colored blanket that feels warm against the skin. The scent becomes a piece of jewelry, a heavy amber brooch pinned to a linen lapel. It anchors the flowers to the body, turning the cool, earthy root into a warm, musky skin scent that hums with a low, amber light.
