Serres d'Auteuil
Fragrance notes
Character
The glass walls of the greenhouse hold the morning heat while sunlight pools on the flagstone path. Fern curls along the iron trellis in damp, shaded fronds, and pink pepper drifts through the air with a bright, faintly prickly lift that catches in the throat. Cherry blossom and Grasse rose tangle together in full bloom, their petals crushed underfoot into a soft, sweet dust that mingles with heliotrope. The air feels powdered and aldehydic, as if someone shook a fine veil of vanilla over the whole room. It is a lush, aromatic space where green stems brush your sleeves and the scent sits close to the skin like pollen on linen, vivid and detailed in the light.
The composition is beautiful in this moment, but the heliotrope and almond accord lean heavily into a cosmetic direction that begins to feel more like makeup than a garden. The floral freshness is real, yet the powdery sweetness turns a little flat and artificial as it settles into that single register. It lacks the earth or the crisp air that would keep the greenery honest, so the scene stays indoors and stays perfumed in a way that can feel dated to some noses. People who prefer their florals wild and unpolished will find this blend too refined and too obviously arranged.
