Character
The sun sits low over a stone courtyard where a leatherworker spreads hides across a wooden bench. A small bowl of red currants rests nearby, their skins split and gleaming against the worn grain. The air carries that tart, bright juice as it mingles with the tanning oils rising from the leather, a sharp fruitiness that feels alive against the heavier material. Osmanthus floats through this space with a soft, peachy floral touch, its creamy lactonic edge smoothing the sharper corners of the fruit and the hide.
Smoke drifts from a brazier in the corner, lending a gentle animalic warmth to the scene without ever overwhelming the osmanthus or the currant. The spices here are quiet, more felt than named, resting in the background while the leather continues to exhale its deep, resonant scent into the cooling air. Everything in this courtyard breathes together, the fresh tartness of the fruit folding naturally into the dense, smoky weight of the workshop.
Jordi Fernández composed this 2022 release for Emirates Pride Perfumes, and the blend feels intentional as the evening light touches the bench and the leather absorbs the last of the day's warmth, the osmanthus still lingering near the surface while the hides prepare to hold their scent through the changing
