2 Man
Fragrance notes
Character
Aldehydes and mint open 2 Man on a strange, sharp note, cut with nutmeg, caraway and kumquat for a spiced, slightly bitter citrus start unlike most masculine openings. The caraway especially gives it an unexpected, almost rye-bread sharpness before the mint cools things down again. The scent holds at a middling pace and never grows loud, staying as a small, close halo around the wearer rather than spreading outward.
Vetiver, saffron and iris carry the heart, earthy and slightly bitter, with the iris adding a cool, powdery contrast to the spice, and saffron lending a faintly leathery, medicinal warmth of its own. By the base, incense and mahogany bring a dark, smoky weight, and leather ties the whole thing together into something dense and a little austere.
Cold weather suits this best, since the incense and leather feel most at home once summer ends. It stays an odd, cerebral scent through the whole wear, spiced and sharp up top, smoky and dense at the base, the kind of composition that rewards close attention over casual sniffing and only gives up its full shape after several wears.
