The kumquat, lemon, and grapefruit provide a tart lift, but the herbs prevent the opening from feeling like a simple treat. It is a bright, sunlit start that works best when the air is clear and the day is active, fitting easily into a morning walk or a casual outdoor setting where the sharpness feels intentional rather than out of place.
As the fragrance develops, the heart introduces orange blossom, neroli, and jasmine. These florals soften the initial bite, moving the scent toward a softer, creamier space. Freesia and iris add a powdery touch that blends into the base of musk, heliotrope, and amber. The musky accord is prominent here, supported by the subtle animalic warmth of ambrette and angelica. It becomes sweet and floral, but the transition is not perfectly seamless. The herbal top notes linger a little too long, creating a slight clash with the softer, gourmand-leaning drydown that never quite resolves into a unified whole.
The result is a fragrance that feels a bit disjointed between its crisp, herbal opening and its musky, sweet finish. While the amber and heliotrope create a pleasant, soft spicy warmth, the early sharpness remains detectable underneath.
