Our take

Neroli Portofino opens like a Mediterranean morning: bergamot, lemon and bitter orange first, then rosemary and myrtle adding a bright, herbal snap alongside the citrus. It's built for exactly one mood, bright and uncomplicated, and it commits to that mood completely instead of trying to be several fragrances in one bottle.

Neroli and African orange flower carry the heart into white floral territory without ever getting heavy, and jasmine adds a warm, honeyed depth beside the neroli's green sharpness.

Amber, ambrette and angelica round out the base gently, keeping the drydown soft and slightly musky. Rodrigo Flores-Roux kept the whole thing light on purpose: it keeps a steady middle-of-the-road hold, and the sillage stays close enough that people have to be invited in to catch it.

Summer is where this belongs, best worn on bright mornings when citrus and herbs make the most sense, easy to wear without asking for a second thought. There's little evolution once the neroli settles in, restfully simple in structure, with nothing new left to discover once the first impression has landed and the citrus has said what it came to say.
