Character
Thailand oud opens the composition with a resinous weight that feels carved from dark wood. Pink pepper adds a bright, almost electric lift that cuts through the heavy resin. Frankincense and cypress bring a church-like stillness, while juniper cools the air like a stone floor in a quiet courtyard. The heart introduces Chinese oud alongside Himalayan nard, a rooty and medicinal herb that grounds the spices. Cloves and cinnamon create a warm, dry heat, but the tonka bean softens the edges with a smooth, vanillic roundness. Rose and Chinese osmanthus offer a faint floral whisper that refuses to turn sweet.
The base settles into ambergris and orris, creating a powdery, animalic skin that feels ancient and expensive. Saffron threads its golden, slightly metallic sparkle through the darker materials. Carrot seeds contribute an earthy, slightly bitter greenness that keeps the resin from becoming too lush. This is a scent for a heavy wool coat and a silent street after rain. It suits someone who enjoys the smell of raw ingredients and natural dust. Those who prefer clean, transparent citrus or aquatic blends will find this too dense and rooted. The character is aromatic, herbal, and deeply oud.
