J-Musk opens with a sharp pineapple and citrus spray that can feel a little thin before the rest of the composition arrives. The rosewood adds a dry edge to the fruit, but the transition is not seamless. Some wearers will find the early minutes too sharp and slightly unbalanced.
Jasmine sambac and rose sit at the center of the heart, supported by blue lotus and immortelle. Palo santo and iris give the florals a woody, herbal lift that keeps the sweetness from becoming flat. The floral accord is dense and rich rather than airy.
Natural musk and castoreum form a heavy base alongside Thailand oud and Chinese oud. Ambergris rounds out the drydown with a salty, animalic warmth. The result is a bold, resinous finish that feels far more serious than the bright opening suggests.
