Ambre Eccentrico
Fragrance notes
Character
Ambre Eccentrico opens with a sticky fistful of dried fruits and cinnamon, the kind of boozy, resinous sweetness that feels like walking into a spice market at dusk. Calice Becker keeps the amber raw and glowing, not polished to a glassy shine. As it develops, tonka bean and prunol push the sweetness into jammy, almost cough-syrup territory, but patchouli anchors it with a dusty, woody backbone that prevents total collapse into dessert. The dry down is a warm vanilla-amber haze, dense and slightly narcotic.
This is the fragrance equivalent of a velvet armchair in a dimly lit library, upholstered with decades of dust and dried apricot skins. It feels heavy and deliberate, leaning synthetic in the opening but settling into something more natural and resinous as it wears. The longevity is respectable around six hours, but the sillage stays close to skin after the first two, which suits its introspective character. It is undeniably mainstream in execution, but the candied richness pushes it toward niche sensibilities.
Wear this on a cold November night, tucked into a chunky sweater, or during a late autumn dinner when you want to smell like a warm fireplace and a glass of mulled wine. Skip it if you hate sweet orientals or if summer heat makes you break into a sweat at the thought of dried fruit. It is a mood, not a crowd pleaser, and that is exactly its charm.
