Luna opens with a sharp, spicy lift from cardamom that quickly meets the unmistakable presence of civet. The animalic note is upfront and slightly pungent, giving the entrance a bold, old-school character that demands attention. It is not a soft start, and the spice does not round it out completely. The cardamom provides a brisk, aromatic edge, but the overall impression remains heavy and intense from the first application.
The heart introduces a dense white floral bouquet built around gardenia and Bulgarian rose. Lily-of-the-valley adds a lighter, dewy touch that cuts through the richness of the petals. Oakmoss grounds the flowers with a damp, earthy texture that keeps the florals from feeling too pretty. This stage feels traditional and layered, moving between creamy petals and green, forest-floor depth. The composition stays rooted in classic materials, presenting a floral heart that is both lush and firmly anchored by moss.
The base is the most generous part of the fragrance. Vanilla and amber create a warm, resinous sweetness that blends smoothly with creamy sandalwood. Oud adds a dark, woody dryness that prevents the sweetness from becoming overwhelming. The drydown settles into a heavy mix of powdery vanilla, musky amber, and deep wood. It feels rich and enveloping, suited to a cold morning where the air is crisp and the light is pale. The scent lingers in the nose as a heavy, woody amber.
