Intense
Fragrance notes
Character
Lotus Intense suits someone who wants a forest floor in a bottle. It is a chypre that leans heavily into resin and needle, built for cool air and quiet streets. The wearer here is not looking for a bright office scent or a playful summer spray. This is for the person who likes a fragrance that feels grounded and serious from the first moment.
The opening brings pine tree and bergamot together with juniper berries. The citrus is sharp and the pine is literal, not polished into a clean household product. Balsam fir and pimento follow in the heart, joined by clary sage. The sage adds a dry herbal edge that keeps the fir from smelling like a holiday decoration. It is aromatic and fresh spicy, but the spice is warm rather than hot.
Leather, patchouli and labdanum form the base. The leather is present and dark, the patchouli is earthy, and the labdanum gives an amber weight that sticks to the skin. The overall accord list covers citrus, conifer, woody, leather and amber, and all of them are detectable. It is a dense composition that stays in one mood rather than shifting through stages.
The limitation is the lack of movement. Once the pine and leather settle, the fragrance does not change much. It is linear and can feel heavy to anyone who prefers a scent that breathes or lightens over time. The resin and spice do not lift, so it may tire the nose before the day is done.
