Our take

Feu D'Ambre opens with a bright, sticky blend of red berries, plum, and apricot that carries an immediate warmth from cinnamon and clove. Honey smooths the edges of the fruit, giving the entrance a gilded, slightly heavy feel before the floral heart takes hold. Lily-of-the-valley and hyacinth bring a cool, green lift to the middle, but they sit inside a much larger arrangement of Bulgarian rose, ylang-ylang, carnation, tuberose, jasmine, and violet. The flowers read plush and traditional, with the rose and tuberose leading a soft, powdery wave that mingles with the remaining fruit from the top.

Tolu balsam, amber, vanilla, and tonka bean form a deep, resinous base that wraps the entire composition in a sweet, golden haze. Sandalwood and patchouli add a grounded, earthy woodiness, while orris and musk push the powdery accord further into the drydown. The fragrance feels dense and rich, moving between spicy fruit, vintage-style florals, and a heavy amber finish without ever thinning out. It suits cooler days when a full, sweet oriental floral feels appropriate, and it is best for those who enjoy a pronounced powdery sweetness alongside warm resins. The whole room smells like a jar of spiced honey resting on a wooden vanity.
