Grapefruit and ginger strike first, bright and slightly sharp, with bergamot adding a clean lift and marigold bringing a faint herbal edge. This opening feels awake and modern, yet the citrus never dominates for long. Immortelle moves in quickly with its warm, hay-like depth, joined by incense that curls through the heart alongside rose, orange blossom, and jasmine. The flowers are present but not delicate, resting on a bed of smoke and resin that keeps the mood grounded and serious.
The base is where Lullincense Woman settles into its true character. Leather and oud give it a dark, slightly animalic weight, while opoponax, benzoin, amber, vanilla, tonka bean, sandalwood, oakmoss, and musk wrap those edges in a thick, balsamic sweetness. It smells like a candle burning in a room with old wooden furniture and a leather chair, the air heavy with spice and resin. The warmth is constant and enveloping, never turning sharp or thin.
Fragrenza builds a dense, complex oriental here with real personality, yet the blend sometimes feels crowded. So many rich materials compete at once that individual notes lose their shape, and the composition can read as muddy rather than layered. The synthetic edge of the oakmoss and musk does not help, occasionally flattening the natural depth the incense and leather try to create.
