Mictlecacihuatl asks a lot before it gives much back. The opening citrus hits hard and sharp, with blood orange and lime racing ahead while mint tries to cool the surface. It is bright to the point of being loud, and the litchi adds a slippery sweetness that some will find clumsy next to the herbs waiting underneath.
Oregano and rosemary push the heart in a culinary direction that feels more kitchen than garden. Chili pepper brings a dry heat that tingles without ever feeling warm, and the aldehydes make the whole stage shimmer in a way that can read as synthetic. Marigold adds a faint resinous yellow tone that keeps the herbs from smelling purely medicinal.
Precious woods try to steady the blend, but the base moves fast toward birch tar and castoreum. That pair creates a dense, animalic leather that dominates the air and leaves the tonka bean struggling to soften the edges. Saffron threads a metallic glow through the smoke, while musk sits low and hides behind the heavier materials.
The result is a narrow path lit by flickering firelight, where dried herbs hang in the air above a stone floor and a dark leather cloak brushes against the ground.
