Our take

Per Sempre opens with a metallic edge that can feel sharp and slightly synthetic. The saffron and rose combination leans into that cool, almost industrial facet, while bergamot and geranium add a bright, green lift that cuts through the heavier materials. This opening is not smooth or rounded. It presents a crisp, aromatic profile that some will find too stark before the deeper notes take hold.

The heart introduces patchouli and amber alongside jasmine and guaiac wood. The amber brings a resinous warmth that begins to soften the initial metallic sting, while the guaiac wood adds a dry, smoky woodiness. The transition moves the fragrance from a bright, spicy start toward a denser, more resinous character. The jasmine sits quietly in the background, allowing the patchouli and wood to dominate the middle phase of the wear.

Vanilla and strawberry in the base provide a sweet contrast to the oud and musk, though the fruit note stays subtle rather than turning the blend into a gourmand. The oud here is woody and earthy, pairing with the powdery musk to ground the sweetness. The overall composition feels suited to a heavy coat and a cold evening walk through city streets where the air is sharp. A silver coin resting on a wool blanket.
