Our take

Loudo opens with a tart burst of cherry and bergamot, a bright citrusy jolt that quickly gets smudged by petitgrain and neroli into something greener and more pensive. The heart is where this fragrance takes its real character: a strange, creamy white chocolate that refuses to be purely gourmand because cypriol and orange blossom keep it dusty, almost leathery. Then the base moves in, and that is where Loudo earns its keep. Laotian oud wraps around amber and vanilla, producing a sweet, animalic warmth that is more cozy than confrontational. This is a fragrance that feels like a velvet-lined cigar box left open in a dusty library, the sticky sweetness of dried fruit clinging to the wood.

Longevity is respectable at around five to six hours, though the sillage stays close to the skin, more of a personal halo than a broadcast. That quiet intimacy suits its best seasons: deep fall and biting winter, when this soft oud and chocolate blend becomes a comforting layer against the cold. It performs better at night, when the animalic musk can unfurl without competing with daylight.

Who should wear it? Anyone who wants a woody gourmand that leans sophisticated rather than cloying, but be warned, that modest projection means it works best as a private pleasure. Those craving a beast-mode oud or a bright summer scent should look elsewhere. Loudo is a well-mannered rebel, a sweet darkness that whispers its appeal instead of shouting.
