The evening air in the courtyard carries a faint chill as orange blossom and rose arrive in a soft, brief wave. They do not linger long before the heart settles into a thick, rooty orris that powders the skin and wraps around the humid jasmine sambac. The flowers feel cool and slightly austere here, pressed against the stone walls of the old building where the night has just begun to settle.
Deeper into the evening, vanilla absolute and tonka bean spread a dense, creamy warmth across the air, while Indonesian patchouli leaf and oud anchor the scene with an earthy, woody weight. The vanilla is rich and dark, not bright or sugary, and it pulls the iris into a plush, slightly dusty texture that feels expensive and very still. Fruity notes peek through the resinous base, adding a gentle lift to the heavy materials as the smoke from the oud curls near the ground. The entire space smells of polished wood, dried petals, and a deep, resinous heat that continues to unfold in the shadows
