Cool air hits the face and the lungs expand. Eucalyptus leads the charge here, sharp and clean, backed by lemon and bergamot that feel bright without being sweet. Ginger adds a brief spark, then the opening settles into a brisk herbal wave that smells like movement and open sky.
Peppermint and spearmint take over with a crisp bite, joined by lavender and geranium. The heart stays green and upright, never lazy, with pimento adding a gentle heat that keeps the mint from feeling thin. It reads like a forest path after fresh snow, where the air is cold and every breath feels clear.
Woods form the floor. Sandalwood and cedar meet cypress and hinoki, while fig softens the edges with a quiet, milky roundness. The base feels dry and grounding, never heavy, and the transition from mint to timber happens smoothly. It stays aromatic throughout, never tipping into sugar or smoke.
Matsuno Hidenori composed this for Kilesa in 2021. It fits a morning walk in deep winter, when the jacket is zipped high and the air demands something clean. Wear it when the day is cold and the light is pale.
