Strut Along
Fragrance notes
Strut Along opens with a sharp bite of black pepper that cuts through bright lemon and bergamot. The spices feel dry and immediate, giving the fragrance a brisk start that does not lean into sweetness too early. Matsuno Hidenori composed this 2021 release for Kilesa as a unisex option that balances freshness with heavier elements.
The heart introduces ylang-ylang and rose, but the aldehydes lift them into a powdery space rather than a lush floral display. Iris adds a root-like dryness that keeps the yellow florals from becoming too soft. This stage feels airy and slightly metallic, with the powdery accord sitting prominently against the citrus that lingers from the opening.
Sandalwood and vanilla form a creamy base, though tobacco and leather give it a rugged edge. Honey adds a thick sweetness that binds the woody and musky elements together. The overall impression is a mix of fresh spice, powder, and resinous depth that shifts between clean and heavy as the notes interact on the skin
