Our take

C’est.Mutine is built for the person who wants a floral that stays outside. The opening gives green tangerine and petitgrain a bright, leafy start, but the point of this fragrance is not the first ten minutes. It is what follows. Lily-of-the-valley and jasmine carry the heart with a clean, dewy weight, and the rose here is pale rather than plush. The white floral accord stays fresh, never turning heavy or soapy, and the citrus lingers just long enough to keep the flowers from feeling enclosed.

The drydown is where the argument settles. Raspberry appears, but it is the tart, seed-side of the fruit, held in place by ambrettolide’s soft musk and a beeswax that feels like a thin layer of warmth rather than a candle. This base keeps the florals from floating away, giving the scent a gentle anchor that still moves with you. It smells like sunlight on a paved path after rain, when the air is cool but the day is clearly warming up.

The result is a fragrance that belongs on skin that will be in the open. It suits someone who enjoys white florals but refuses the formal weight they often bring. Wear it when the light is clear and the air invites a walk that lasts longer than planned, through a garden where the raspberries are not quite ripe and the bees are already working the blossoms.
