Our take

A narrow stone courtyard sits under a sky heavy with cloud, the air cool enough that breath fogs near the mouth. Someone leans against a weathered wall, and the scent rising from their sleeve carries the damp earth of patchouli mixed with the golden, slightly metallic thread of saffron. Narcissus adds a pale, watery floral note that feels like the last flower standing before the frost takes the garden. The blend stays near the body, moving only a little when the person shifts, so the person standing next to them catches a warm, musky breath of it when they lean in to speak. It does not announce itself across the space, and it does not cling to the air after they walk away, but it remains steady while they linger in the chill.

The amber and tonka in the base give the air around them a resinous weight, like wood smoke caught in a wool coat. It suits a quiet evening outdoors, when hands are tucked into pockets and the conversation stays low. The person wearing it does not fill the path, but the scent stays present through the slow walk back to the door, a soft, animalic warmth pressed into the fabric.
