Our take

Equinox Bloom opens with a sharp, almost candied neroli and a violet leaf that feels more green than dusty, like crushing a stem between your fingers. The hortensia adds a soapy, aquatic blush that softens the citrus, but it’s the heart where this fragrance really finds its rhythm. Frangipani and jasmine sambac weave together into a creamy, tropical white floral that breathes warm and humid, not shrill. Orange blossom pushes the sweetness further, and the base of brown sugar and siam benzoin turns everything into a soft, lactonic amber. Olivier Cresp leans into a gentle, clean sweetness here, nothing aggressive. The overall impression is like standing in a greenhouse after a spring rain, the glass fogged and the petals heavy with moisture. It feels natural in its floralcy but slightly synthetic in that peppy, blown-out way that modern ambroxan bases often do, which keeps it from being precious. For a fragrance rated modestly on longevity and sillage, it does its job as a daytime companion for spring and summer, fading into a skin-sweet benzoin after a few hours. It suits someone who wants a pretty, comforting floral without the heft of a tuberose or the screech of an aldehyde. Skip it if you crave projection or any darkness, this bloom won’t cast a shadow. Perfect for brunch, a garden stroll, or an afternoon where you want to smell like a well-groomed flower, not a statement.
