Verde di Mare opens with a bright, almost aggressive citrus chord a bitter orange and lime peel slap cut through with juniper and pepper. That initial zing is bracing, like cracking a cold bottle of lemon soda on a dock. It quickly softens into a heart where sea notes meet blackcurrant and a faint black tea smokiness, but the floral mid is crowded with lily of the valley and carnation, which can feel a bit muddled. The drydown is the best part: ambergris and labdanum blend with vanilla and soft musk, turning the aquatic freshness into a sun warmed driftwood texture. The overall character is a clean, slightly synthetic marine breeze filtered through a florist’s shop a little too neat for nature, a little too floral for the shore. It’s light, decidedly fresh, and leans niche in concept but mainstream in execution. The longevity is modest at best, and sillage hovers close after the first hour, which is its real weakness. This is a spring and summer daytime wear for someone who wants a polite, inoffensive aquatic with a green twist. Skip it if you crave depth, projection, or anything dark. It works best on a casual brunch or a breezy afternoon walk, but don’t expect it to last past lunch.
