Our take

Starlit Night opens with a burst of snowberry that is less fruit and more the ghost of fruit, that tart, frozen sweetness you taste when you bite into a berry that’s been kissed by frost. The iris arrives quickly, powdery and violet-tinged, like a dusting of snow on a velvet collar. Then comes the oud, but don’t expect smoky barnyard dirt; this is agarwood buffed to a polite, almost cosmetic sheen, earthy enough to anchor the florals without scaring anyone. The whole thing feels like a snow globe you shake and then hold very still, watching the glitter settle on a miniature winter garden.

It is surprisingly cohesive for a Bath & Body Works release, but also painfully fleeting. The longevity clocks in at under three hours, and sillage is barely a whisper after the first thirty minutes. You get a lovely, wistful powdery-oud trail that evaporates before you can decide if you love it or just like it. This suits the person who wants a cozy, moody evening scent for late December nights, something to wear to a holiday party where you’ll be close and warm. Skip it if you demand projection or all-day endurance; this is a fragrance that fades into its own starlit dusk far too soon.
