Our take

Gingham opens with a bright, clean spritz of clementine that feels less like fresh fruit and more like the peel left behind after breakfast, sharp and slightly sugary. This fades quickly into a soft bouquet of freesia and violet, a powdery floral accord that lands somewhere between a freshly ironed sundress and a whisper of cheap lavender sachet from the drugstore. The dry down is a vague sweetness, all pale petals and faint citrus dust, gone before you’ve even left the house.

The whole thing is like a Polaroid taken on a picnic blanket in early May: cheerful, slightly overexposed, and destined to fade before you can show it to anyone. It is aggressively mainstream, pleasant, synthetic in that unmistakable Bath & Body Works way, and utterly weightless. With longevity barely hovering above two hours and sillage so timid it might as well be a secret, this fragrance is a spritz and sprint kind of affair. You will need to reapply. You will need to reapply again.

It suits someone who wants to smell clean and forgettable, a morning shower in a bottle, not a statement. Skip it if you crave depth or presence, or if you expect a fragrance to carry through a workday. Wear it to brunch, a yoga class, a quick errand. It is a perfect springtime ghost, pleasant and then gone, leaving no impression but the memory of something bright. Is that enough? For three dollars with a coupon, perhaps.
