Our take

Mango Mood opens with a blast of underripe mango, all green and terpenic, the kind that makes your jaw clench. Black currant adds a tart, almost boozy edge and pink pepper pricks the nose just enough to keep the fruit from turning into a smoothie. Then the heart arrives, and that’s where things get complicated. Orris powders everything over, jasmine sambac and lotus turn the air humid, and suddenly you’re in a greenhouse where a fruit bowl has been left too long in the sun. The base tries to save it with brown sugar and vanilla absolute, softening the patchouli into something warm and almost honeyed, but the whole picture is a mango that’s been sliced open and then abandoned on a counter, waiting for someone to finish it.

It feels natural enough at the start, but the drydown veers into a synthetic drupe note that clings to the skin without ever pushing outward. Longevity barely scrapes two hours before it turns into a ghost, and sillage is a polite whisper you’d miss in a breeze. For a spring or summer day, it works as a fleeting mood booster, a lunchtime spritz that evaporates before dinner. Who should wear it? Someone who wants a tropical flash without committing to a full bottle presence. Who should skip? Anyone who expects their mango to stay ripe past noon, or who wants a fragrance that actually talks back in a crowd. It’s a snack, not a meal, and that’s fine if you don’t mind being hungry again in twenty minutes.
