Our take

Father Figure opens with a lush, watery fig, green and milky at once, as if you’ve crushed a ripe fruit against a pad of water lily. The cassis adds a tart, berry-like brightness that keeps the sweetness from cloying. Then comes the iris and orris root, dusty and cool, like the inside of an antique vanity. The jasmine is barely there, more a whisper than a bloom. On the drydown, the sandalwood and vanilla wrap around a soft, almost powdery musk, while patchouli adds a faint earthy anchor. The overall character is a cashmere sweater that’s been stored in a drawer of dried figs and violet pastilles. It feels natural, intimate, and mildly synthetic in the best way, like a carefully curated indie scent that refuses to shout.

Here is the problem. The longevity is a thin 2.76 and the sillage barely registers. You will get maybe two hours of detectable presence before it sinks into your skin like a secret. That makes it a perfect choice for spring mornings, summer evenings, or any moment when you want scent to be a personal whisper rather than a public announcement. It suits someone who values texture over projection, who wants to smell softly of pistachio-adjacent fig and clean iris. Skip it if you need arm’s-length drama or an eight-hour commitment. Father Figure is a quiet, elegant ghost of a fragrance, lovely while it lasts but gone before you’ve fully appreciated it.
