Our take

Lamsa opens with a challenge that some will call a flaw. The jasmine is loud and slightly medicinal, pushing forward with a sharpness that can feel abrasive on first spray. It lacks the soft, dewy grace found in classic white florals, presenting instead a raw and unpolished stem scent that demands patience. This is not a gentle introduction. The synthetic edge of the floral accord clashes initially with the heavier elements waiting beneath, creating a moment of friction that might send casual wearers reaching for the soap. You have to tolerate that piercing start to find what the fragrance actually wants to be.

Once that jasmine settles, the heart of patchouli takes over with a damp, earthy texture that grounds the sharp petals. It feels dark and slightly dirty, moving the scent away from a bright garden and into a shadowed space. The base brings oud and amber, lending a resinous warmth that wraps around the patchouli without fully smoothing out the rough edges. It remains a rugged composition, suited for someone who enjoys a floral that refuses to be pretty. It carries a distinct Middle Eastern character, heavy on the resin and wood. The drydown is a dense mix of amber and oud.
