The opening is a strange mix of truffle and strawberry, a combination that smells like fruit growing out of dark soil. Pink pepper and coriander add a sharp bite to the rhubarb, while ginger provides a warm heat that sits next to the saffron. It is a busy start where sweet and savory collide without asking permission.
Jasmine and rose sit in the heart, but they are not the clean florals found in a standard bouquet. Iris and heliotrope turn the center powdery, softening the edges of the orange blossom. The orchid adds a heavy, slightly humid quality that makes the air feel thick and textured.
The base is a dense forest of cedar and vetiver, anchored by the dry scratch of cypriol. Leather and labdanum bring a rugged, animalic texture that rubs against the smooth sweetness of tonka bean and vanilla. It feels like wearing a heavy velvet coat in a room lit only by candlelight.
