Homem Sagaz opens with a sharp citrus snap, green mandarin and lemon balm cutting through like cold steel before sage and cypress soften the edge. It’s a clever trick, this contrast. The heart leans into a dark fruit and spice blend, plum turned dusty by black pepper and nutmeg, a combination that feels more intellectual than indulgent. Then the base settles into a warm, powdery amber with vanilla and tonka, sandalwood and cedar keeping it from tipping into dessert territory. The overall character reminds me of a well-worn leather armchair in a library where someone just spilled a glass of spiced wine. It’s familiar but not obvious.
Performance is where this fragrance shows its feet of clay. Longevity hovers around moderate, and sillage is decidedly close.
