Vanilla Vibes
Fragrance notes
Character
Salt is an odd note to put first, but it works here, giving the opening a faint marine tang before vanilla absolute and orchid soften everything into something warmer. The salty edge never fully disappears, giving the vanilla a slightly savory undertone beneath the sweetness.
Orchid barely registers as its own note; it mostly adds a waxy smoothness to the vanilla absolute, which is really the star of the middle of the fragrance. Musk, tonka bean, sandalwood and benzoin round out a warm, powdery base, with amber and balsamic touches deepening it further without pushing it into anything heavy or thick.
The formula stays fairly linear throughout the wear, without much evolution beyond the salt slowly receding and the vanilla taking full control. Sillage gives off a soft, close warmth, and longevity wears at a comfortable, in-between clip, present through most of a wear without demanding attention.
Summer owns almost the entire season profile, with spring trailing well behind and nothing at all in fall or winter, and the day score far outpaces the night one. This is a beach-bag vanilla, salty and warm at once, casual rather than a serious evening scent.
