Our take

Una Artisan opens with a brisk pop of cassis and pink pepper, a fruity green snap that feels like breaking a twig under a spring rain. The mandarin and pear lend a watery sweetness, but the marigold keeps it from turning syrupy. Within minutes, the heart blooms: rose and peony, but not the powdery kind, more like a wet garden after a storm, with hyacinth and lily-of-the-valley adding a sharp, almost metallic greenness. Then comes the drydown, a soft landing in patchouli and oakmoss, cushioned by vanilla and cashmere wood. The musk ties it all together, but the sandalwood stays pale, barely whispering.

This is a chypre floral that wears like a linen shirt splattered with wildflower petals, crisp at first, then clinging to the skin with a faint earthy warmth. It feels natural, almost botanical, but the longevity is modest at best, around four hours, and the sillage stays close, a polite whisper rather than a declaration. It suits someone who wants a fresh, woody floral for daytime, spring through fall, especially when the air is cool and damp. Skip it if you crave projection or a sweet, gourmand cloud. Best worn to a Sunday brunch on an overcast morning, or a long walk through a botanical garden, where it blends into the leaves and dirt, never demanding attention, just existing.
