Our take

Mashkoor opens with a distinct walnut note that feels dry and slightly bitter. It is a grounded start that avoids sweetness and keeps the entrance narrow. The heart soon brings leather and musk forward. The leather is smooth rather than rugged, and the musk adds a soft, rounded layer that keeps the walnut from feeling too sharp. This stage stays close to the skin and moves at a steady pace, letting the middle notes build a warm, slightly powdery texture that sits between floral and spicy without leaning hard in either direction.

The drydown is where the fragrance spends most of its time. Taif rose enters with a deep, slightly indolic floral character that pairs closely with the oud. The oud here is rich and resinous, carrying an animalic edge that gives the rose a darker frame. Sandalwood smooths the sharper facets of the oud and lends a creamy woodiness that lingers beneath the floral and resinous notes. The overall mood is warm and intimate, suited to dim rooms and late gatherings where a heavier scent feels appropriate. It is not bright or airy, and it does not try to be. The powdery accord grows more noticeable as the rose and oud settle, while the nutty opening fades into a faint memory. This is a fragrance built on rose, oud, and leather.
