The sweetness is immediate and almost aggressive, but the coffee and cacao in the heart soon step in to deepen the affair, pulling it away from candy territory into something darker, a little bitter around the edges. Oakmoss provides an unexpected green anchor, preventing the whole thing from collapsing into a syrupy puddle. The base settles into a warm, woody vanilla with labdanum adding a faint resinous glow, like embers still smoldering under ash.
This is a heavy, unabashedly sweet Oriental Vanilla that leans synthetic in the best Lattafa tradition, a plush velvet couch in a dive bar rather than a niche boutique’s curated shelf. It lives for winter and fall, when that dense, boozy cloud makes sense, and shines brightest at night, though daytime wear is possible if you go light on the trigger.
