Pineapple opens this too, paired unusually with saffron, and the combination is stranger and drier than a typical fruity opening, tropical fruit crossed with something warm and slightly bitter. Saffron gives it a faintly medicinal, leathery edge that pulls the pineapple away from pure candy sweetness.
Balsam fir and jasmine move into the heart, an unusual pairing of coniferous green and white floral, cool against the warm fruit underneath. It is an odd combination on paper, since pineapple, saffron and pine needles do not obviously belong together, and the transition between them feels more abrupt than smooth, each note taking its turn without really blending into the next.
Cedar, amber and oud close it out, giving the drydown real woody depth, though the oud stays soft rather than dominant. Sillage keeps a modest, warm halo close by, and longevity runs an even, unremarkable course, doing its job without much drama. Spring and summer lead the season data by a wide margin, and the day score comfortably outpaces the night one, marking this as a warm-weather, daytime pick more than an evening one.
